E-learning platform for
Festo LX
Since 2020 I have been working with the Festo Didactic team on Festo LX, the learning experience platform for technical training and education.
As part of an interdisciplinary team, I support the growth of the platform with UI/UX design. I design interfaces for teachers, admins and learners and help integrate new features into the existing experience: consistent, understandable and clearly in the Festo look.
Step by step, a single portal has become an extensive digital system. Every new requirement has to fit into a grown design system and extend it where needed.
Roles and edge cases
Festo LX serves very different user groups: teachers who put courses together, admins who manage rights and content, and learners who work through sometimes complex technical material. Each role brings its own requirements, permissions and special cases. My job is to design an interface for all of these perspectives that stays understandable as the functionality grows.
I would love to recommend Vitali, but that would be an own goal. We have been working with him for years and are so happy that we would rather keep him to ourselves. So I feel compelled not to recommend him. Purely for strategic reasons, of course.
Design system and brand consistency
To make every area of the platform feel like one piece, I continuously maintain and extend the Festo LX design system. Colours, components and interaction patterns are defined consistently, so the platform stays coherent and closely tied to the Festo brand as its scope grows.
Front-end prototypes
For complex animations and interactions I build individual front-end prototypes. They make abstract interaction ideas tangible and give the development team a reliable basis for implementation.
Collaboration and result
Occasional support has turned into a long-term partnership over the years. Since 2020 Festo LX has grown continuously, with new roles, content and features added without hurting the consistency of the platform. The consistent UI/UX design builds trust: users recognise Festo LX at first glance as part of the Festo brand.
